Social Media Editor Intern

We’re looking for three digital marketing students that would love to take charge and run some exciting social media campaigns.

Who are you?

You love good content. You appreciate amazing imagery and video. For you, hashtags are not overrated. When it comes to engaging people, you’re a pro. Trying to catch the short attention span of the human mind is a journey you’re willing to go through. And above all, you’re able to tell and share stories.

What will you do?

Social Media is the breathing part of the committee. As a social media intern, you’ll be collaborating with photographers, graphic designers, and other team members. Here are some of the things you might do with other editors:

  • Take charge and implement social media strategies with a team of photographers, graphic designers, etc.
  • Develop and lead bi-monthly social media campaigns with the marketing team.
  • Surf around and re-publish relevant, high-quality content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
  • Learn and create target audiences with business development interns.

How we’ll give back.

Rather than grabbing coffee or organizing papers for a random company, you’ll be able to benefit your efforts in your design career. We’re painting a vision for the future, which requires a lot of work that is out of the ordinary. We’ll make sure we push your capabilities and skills as a marketer.

You’ll be an integral part of a movement that will change the United States. Every tiny effort made in the committee pushes the destination of 10 members of color in the US Senate and 100 members-of-color in the US House of Representatives into reality.

Events and fundraisers with leading figures across the state of Indiana held by the Ten 100 Committee will allow you to take the opportunity to build a strong professional network. From politicians to businessmen of Indiana, the connections to be made are limitless. An opportunity one cannot simply pass in the field of marketing. You’ll be able to attend these fundraisers, events, and dinners anytime.

If you’re planning on going to graduate school or seeking a job right after graduation, we’ll be able to provide you with a glowing recommendation letter upon request.

Online marketing takes a lot of effort and creativity. Creativity and passion can’t be expressed through words on resumes, although work can. All of the work created by your effort can be used in your portfolio/resume with proper credentials.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • You love social media, no matter what the naysayers say.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms/tools.
  • Excellent writing and language skills.
  • You’re able to do extensive research on various political topics.
  • The ability to collaborate and communicate with other team members.
  • Pursuing a career in digital marketing or any related field.

Internship Info

The internship is an unpaid position for the summer semester of 2018.

For most of the internship, you’ll be working remotely and able to attend any events held by the committee. There will be bi-weekly meetings with all of the marketing team held at the nearest café. Yes, coffee will be on us!

Unlike other internships, there isn’t any certain number of hours that you have to commit to. The amount of time you’ll put in depends on the scope of the project, deadline, and other factors. We believe, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out of it.

Your application

Interested? We’d love to hear more from you. After your application is reviewed, an interview will be set to get to know you more.

We’re looking forward to your application!

The deadline to apply is May 14, 2018 at 11:59 PM.

Who are we?

We’re a group of thinkers and innovators that challenge the status quo. Launched in 2016, The Ten 100 Committee is paving the way for people of color to change the country from bottom up. Our momentous mission is just that.

We have grown from an idea to one of the fastest growing PAC in the state of Indiana.

We believe that our efforts can lead to the election of 10 members-of-color in the US Senate, and 100 members-of-color in the US House of Representatives serving concurrently by 2050. Whether it is a big fundraiser, a monthly campaign, or an advertisement design, we go all in to get a day closer to our mission.
